Forklift training fees in Kenya are not set at one national rate. If you plan to train at Newton Institute of Technology (NIT) in Migori, set aside KSh 27,350 before transport, meals or accommodation. KSh 25,000 is NIT’s training fee; the remaining KSh 2,350 is paid separately through E-Citizen for NTSA transactions.

Training runs for one month, five days each week. About 70% of class time is practical and 30% is theory. NIT trains learners on a cushion-tyre forklift. Its solid rubber tyres suit smooth, firm surfaces such as warehouse floors, factory areas and paved loading zones. This gives useful preparation for indoor material handling, where aisles can be tight and pedestrians may be working close to the travel route.

NTSA examination and the G10 forklift endorsement

Under Kenya’s published driving-licence rules, forklifts fall under Category G for industrial, construction and agricultural plant and equipment. NIT uses G10 for the forklift specialisation in its training and examination guidance. The route has three distinct parts: training, the applicable NTSA assessment and the official endorsement. A course attendance certificate is not a G10 endorsement.
