A common point of confusion
Do you have to wait 21 days after getting a PDL?
Older NTSA service guidance referred to a PDL reaching maturity after 21 days before test booking. NTSA’s current public driving-test page does not state a general 21-day waiting period for a first test; it says an applicant who is satisfied they can take the test can proceed to booking.
There is a separate 21-day rule in the driving-school regulations after a failed NTSA driving test: a learner should not be retested within 21 days of the failed test. For a first test, follow the eligibility shown in your current eCitizen account and the instructions from your licensed driving school.
