This small sample is used to identify employer patterns, not to estimate the total number of tractor jobs in Kenya.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"nit-pg-highlight\"><strong>What the pattern says<\/strong><p>The licence repeatedly appeared as an entry requirement, but employers also wanted practical agricultural-machine experience, inspection habits, mechanical awareness, fault reporting, safety and records.<\/p><\/div>\n  <\/section>\n\n  <section class=\"nit-pg-section\" id=\"operator-not-driver\" aria-labelledby=\"operator-not-driver-heading\">\n    <p class=\"nit-pg-eyebrow\">More than driving<\/p>\n    <h2 id=\"operator-not-driver-heading\">A tractor driver and an agricultural machinery operator are not always the same thing<\/h2>\n    <p>Kenyan agricultural-engineering research published in 2025 described practical training designed to develop tractor drivers into agricultural-machinery operators. The practical work included tractor operation, ploughing, harrowing, planters, boom sprayers and machinery maintenance.<\/p>\n    <p>That distinction matches the employer evidence.
